Cardiff Met FC's Under-19 team has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first Welsh club to reach the second round of the UEFA Youth League Domestic Champions Path.

Cardiff Met FC's Under-19s are making history in the UEFA Youth League, having become the first Welsh club to advance to the second round of the competition. This remarkable achievement follows their impressive 4-1 aggregate victory over Luxembourg's FC UNA Strassen, which included a dominant 4-0 win in the first leg at Cyncoed Stadium.

The Young Archers, managed by Jack Lyons, secured their place in the next round despite a narrow 1-0 defeat in the second leg in Luxembourg. Their journey to this point marks a significant milestone for Welsh football, showcasing the potential of youth academies in the region.

Cardiff Met's campaign began with success in the National Academi Development League South, which set the stage for their historic participation in European competition. The team’s first leg performance against UNA Strassen was particularly noteworthy, with goals from Mitch Ford, Harrison Matthews, Caleb Finlayson, and Myles McKenzie contributing to a commanding home victory.

As they prepare for their next challenge against Norwegian side Stabæk Fotball, who are also making their UEFA Youth League debut, the Young Archers will look to build on their momentum. The first leg of this encounter is set for Wednesday, October 28, at Nye Nadderud Stadium in Norway, with the return fixture scheduled for November 4 in Cardiff.
