West Ham United have parted ways with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo following a disappointing start to the Championship season. The club is now in discussions with former player Scott Parker to take over as manager.
West Ham United have dismissed head coach Nuno Espirito Santo after a lackluster beginning to their Championship campaign. The club is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Scott Parker, a former player with the Hammers, to step in as his successor.
Nuno, who took charge in September 2025, struggled to turn around the team's fortunes after their relegation from the Premier League last season. West Ham currently sits eighth in the table, six points off the top spot, following a recent slump that included two consecutive home defeats. The board felt that a change was necessary to realign the club's objectives with its aspirations for promotion back to the Premier League.
Parker has experience managing in the Championship, having previously led Bournemouth and Burnley to promotion. His familiarity with West Ham, where he played for four seasons, could provide a boost to the team as they seek to reclaim their place in the top tier. The club is also dealing with the departure of assistant coaches Rui Pedro Silva and Rui Barbosa, leaving Mark Noble and others to temporarily oversee team operations.
West Ham's next fixture is against Cardiff City on Wednesday night, where they will look to regain momentum under interim management. The club hopes to finalize Parker's appointment soon, aiming for a swift turnaround in their season.
